(Man)Go to Mango Mango Dessert!

Mochi, crepes, smoothies, oh my!

Mango Mango Dessert is a cozy and inviting dessert shop that specializes in Hong Kong-style desserts, particularly those featuring the refreshing taste of..you guessed it…mango! It first opened in Chinatown, at 63 Bayard Street, and has since expanded to house several locations around New York and across various states, giving you ample opportunity to try their delicious desserts. The menu includes a comprehensive selection of desserts and drinks, such as a mango mousse cake, mango smoothie, and a mango sundae to name a few. It is the perfect place to grab a sweet treat and chat with your friends.

I got the opportunity to visit the Chinatown location of Mango Mango Dessert and try their new Spring Sips menu, along with three of their regular menu items. The dessert shop was a popular place to be on a Thursday night, and the staff was welcoming and provided a comfortable atmosphere for their customers.

The first dessert I tried was the Coconut Mango Juice Sago & Pomelo with Mango Ice Cream. The mango ice cream had a burst of flavor, creating a delicious first bite. The fresh pieces of mango were a nice complement to the dish, adding to the lusciously present mango flavor. It was a very refreshing dish, perfect for a hot summer’s day or, in my case, a chilly February evening!

The next dessert was a Mango Coconut Sticky Rice with Ice Cream. This dish was the perfect combination of sweetness from the coconut rice, and tanginess from the fresh mango pieces. The rice added a nice textural element to the dish, and the ice cream served as a creamy and neutral balance to the tropical flavors. Overall, this dish was a flawless mix of savory and sweet.

The combination of the thin crepe layers and the cream filling of the Mango Mille Crepe Cake made for the softest, lightest, cloud-like bite. The mango drizzle over the top added to the tasty mango flavor, and, following a common theme, the pieces of mango added vibrance and freshness to the dish.

Mango Mango Dessert launched its new Spring Sips menu, and the drinks did not disappoint. The Sunny Bayberry (pictured on the left) is a delicious combination of bayberry—a fruit from a small tree or shrub, tasting of the perfect blend of sweet and sour— puree and lime to create a sweet and tangy sip, and the Passion Glory (pictured on the right) combines passionfruit, coconut water, and a feature of grapes to create a refreshing and delightful taste.

Mango Mango Dessert is every mango lover's dream, creating handcrafted desserts using the finest ingredients and the freshest mangos! Even if mango is not your favorite, they have non-mango options suited to please your taste buds. So, man! Go to Mango Mango Dessert and have a mango-good time!
