trader Joe's fall items review!

I was casually scrolling through Tik Tok when I came across several people reviewing and tasting some of Trader Joe’s most well-known fall items. As I watched each one, I noticed the same foods were being shown. Some of these more popular items include the pumpkin Jo Joe’s, pumpkin waffles, cinnamon buns spread, but the list goes on and on. However, I wanted to know how some of the more unique items tasted like and whether or not they would be worth buying, which is what gave me the inspiration to write this piece. I tried to be more creative with my food selection, but nonetheless here are my top 5 ratings on fall foods at Trader Joe's!

Pumpkin Bread and Muffin Mix

Rating:10/10

I am truly out of words for how amazing this pumpkin bread is. My friends and I ate this all up in one night! This pumpkin bread is very simple to make, all you need to do is add oil, eggs, and water, and I even ended up adding chopped walnuts on top. It came out of the oven an hour later looking fluffy and it also had a nice crisp brown coloring on top. This pumpkin bread tasted exactly how I expected it to, it had the perfect level of sweetness and the bread itself was not too dense. I definitely recommend adding the walnuts on top because it gives the bread a perfect crunch. If you are looking for an easy pumpkin recipe to make this fall, then Trader Joe’s has your back!

Apple Caramel Flavored Granola

Rating: 9/10

If you are an apple pie lover, like I am, then this is the perfect snack for you! This yummy granola has dried apples, oats, peanuts, and pumpkin seeds which all bring about an amazing fall flavor. This sweet limited edition granola is the perfect topping vanilla yogurt, or even on top of oatmeal bowls. I personally, however, found it to be the best microwaved because it tastes exactly like a warm, soft apple pie. To this day, this remains my favorite snack so I would highly recommend this for the fall season!

Pumpkin Bread / Bagels

Rating: 9/10

These Trader Joe’s fall staples are beyond amazing and are definitely items to put in your pantry ASAP. I was definitely able to taste the pumpkin in both these goods and it was the perfect combo of sweet and savory. I topped my bagel with half cream cheese and half TJ’s pumpkin butter and it was seriously the best breakfast. The pumpkin bread had a nice crunch to it with the pumpkin seeds around the borders, and it pairs perfectly with some peanut butter and cinnamon on top! Sit outside in the crisp fall air and enjoy these limited edition Trader Joe’s items for breakfast, it truly makes the best morning!

Pumpkin Empanadas

Rating: 8/10

When I first walked past this item at Trader Joe’s I was shocked that such a food combination could exist. I had never seen anything like this before, and for that reason I simply had to buy them and give them a taste! I made these as a little appetizer before dinner that night and was pleasantly surprised. I ate the empanada blind, meaning that I had not seen the ingredients beforehand, and found the flavor to be super sweet, similar to a pumpkin pie. The dough of the empanada was flaky and the filling gave me instant flashbacks to eating pumpkin pie during Thanksgiving dinner. However, in order to make these make sure to cook them in the oven and give them 5 minutes to cool down (trust me on this). If you have a sweet tooth like I do, definitely give these a try!

Pumpkin Butter

Rating: 7.5/10

I have a lot to say about this classic fall staple. 1) this tastes amazing on the pumpkin bagel//any pumpkin related food. 2) if you have a sweet tooth then this is the perfect one for you, but it was slightly too sweet for my liking. Make sure to only add about a teaspoon to your toast, as it can get very sweet. 3) This pumpkin butter is very smooth and only pairs well with certain sweet foods, such as the pumpkin bread, so be aware before buying. Overall, however, I would highly suggest giving this a try before fall ends.
